Cinehagen
Look at me, funny and clever enough to combine Cinestill with Copenhagen, into a word that no one understands.
Last month, my beautiful wife and I had a couple of days in Copenhagen, as we went to see our favorite comedian. I knew in advance, that this was also gonna be a film trip, and had a location in mind (Grundtvig's Church). A place we both wanted to see, for a long time. If you are into danish design, and especially the architect and designer Kaare Klint, the trip to Grundtvig’s Church is definitely a pilgrimage trip, you need to take.
I had a couple of Cinestill rolls in the fridge without a purpose, so I brought them along, a roll of 400D, and one 800T. This will only be the second time I shoot a roll of 400D, the first only being half a roll, since the camera I shot it with decided it didn’t like water on my Sweden trip. So I was exited to give it a go again.
I decided to load the 400D in my, at the moment favorite toy, the Olympus Mju. And the 800T in the Canon A1. And for some reason I decided, to disregard my knowledge and experience with 800T, and instead of rating it as the true iso 500 it is, I went with 800. This resulted in my photos being underexposed, or at least compared to what I envisioned. Mistakes happen, and the only right thing I could do, when I scanned my photos, was to lean into the underexposed shots, and make them look intentional.
When you arrive to Copenhagen with bus from Jutland, you pass “himmelekspressen” a mens shelter, shot on the Mju, with 400D
There’s something about empty chairs, I seem to be drawn to (just like my series “hård plast”), this one was located by the staircase, at the hostel we were staying at. 400D Mju
Ishøj station 400D on the Mju
Scene from Ishøj city center, and like the amateur I am - I somehow managed to switch on, the date system on the Mju. Since it kinda fits the esthetic of the scene, I didn’t mind it enough to edit it out. Shot on 400D
A lovely passage, on the hunt for something to eat. 400D on the Mju
It wasn’t planned, but we visited Christiansborg palace chapel, and I managed to take a couple of photos on the Canon A1 with the 800T

“Kirkestolen” designed by Kaare Klint, and some interesting light inside the church, 800T Canon A1

I took one with the man, and one without - I really like this one though. The person gives the scene a sense of scale. 800T Canon A1
These fantastic old BOSCH signs, right next to the meatpacking district. 400D Mju
Scene from the late night ferry, on our way home again. 800T Canon A1
And my favorite shot on the trip. Here the 800T really shines through with its beautiful halation’s. An empty first class section on the Ferry home, shot on Canon A1
